Welcome to the homepage of the VA-Industry Linked In group!
The Linked In VA-Industry group was started to represent Virtual Assistants who maintain profiles at Linked In. Currently this is the sole purpose of the group. My hope is that when our numbers are reflected in a group presentation Linked In will recognize the need for an appropriate category for Virtual Assistants on their Industry drop down menu.
At a networking event in April of 2008 I connected with a representative at Linked In and had the opportunity to address my concerns regarding the lack of representation for us in their drop down menu. I was encouraged to start this group to reflect the need. The representative I spoke with said once this was accomplished she would begin processes on the inside of Linked In to get us represented.
There are two requirements for qualifying as a member of the VA-Industry group:
- You must have an active Linked In profile referencing your virtual assistant services.
- You must have a link in your profile to your virtual assistant services website.
Membership requests will be reviewed individually to verify both requirements are met. Although the drive of the group is to reflect a number, I would prefer the number be of quality rather than quantity. To me this means it should reflect actual Virtual Assistants and not those dabbling in the industry or individuals from Linked In who collect group badges. Should both requirements not be met, membership will be denied.
So, for the love of our industry…please join the VA-Industry group!
